This short trip is set sometime during Bliss’s tenure with the Eighth Doctor, so it might as well be here. It’s written by new writer Max Curtis, and narrated by Adele Anderson, who does a decent job of capturing Bliss’s voice, but not so much the Eighth Doctor’s delivery. It’s also one of the more fairy-tale sounding stories. The TARDIS lands on a very long train streaming through the vortex, with passengers frozen in time. The train is supposedly heading for Salvage, the planet where lost things go, from socks and pens to people and planets. Maybe; if such a thing actually exists. Although the Doctor provides the exposition, Bliss definitely drives the plot for this one, as it’s her story in large part. In a way, it’s nicer to have a story that isn’t overcome with terror at the war, but rather a kind of melancholy.
