This is a part of the “Destiny of the Doctor” series from the 50th Anniversary, which means that India Fisher is the narrator, but Paul McGann doesn’t appear. That means it’s written as an internal monologue of Charley’s, and it turns out she’s kind of full of herself, frequently finds the Doctor embarrassing, and is very fond of clever wordplay. There hasn’t been a lot of evidence of that in other stories, but OK. Unlike the other “Destiny” stories, the message from the Eleventh Doctor occurs right at the beginning, and it’s garbled, so there isn’t any silliness...yet. But it also means the Doctor and Charley have to figure out what it is they’re supposed to be doing, in England just before WWII, with spies and paranoia abounding. Pretty much nothing is what it seems, including the title, but you can kind of anticipate that. It’s not the smoothest fit with the rest of this run, but it’s not bad.
