This Short Trip takes place immediately after “Time of the Daleks.” After returning Shakespeare to his own time, the TARDIS accidentally picks up a time roach in the vortex, and makes an emergency landing outside an RAF base, where they promptly lose the roach and get arrested. The rest of the story is mostly the Doctor and Charley trying to explain themselves to a young officer, who surprises them both by believing them when they tell the truth. Exactly why that is, and what that means for the officer, is clearly considered to be a spoiler by the story, but it’s not really all that difficult to work out. If you enjoy the continuity reference, you’ll enjoy this story.
