Like many of the early Short Trips, this isn’t an adventure; it’s a vignette that happens after the adventure. In this case, a bystander named Stan died a hero during the adventure we didn’t see, and Charley insists that the Doctor go visit Stan’s family to let them know what happened. The Doctor, as ever, isn’t comfortable with that, but he does it for Charley’s sake, because she’s still new at this. It goes about as well as such a visit could go, really, which is good for Charley, but she still feels the pain of it. Given that this is a more empathetic Doctor, and Charley wears her heart on her sleeve as well, this is a good look inside her head.
