Ravenous 4.1
Released: 9 October 2019
Listened: 12/28/21
Here we start the last box of the Ravenous story, and it starts with another digression. We finished the last box with the Doctor believing that the Ravenous were defeated, and the Eleven was cured, when neither was the case. Immediately after, they try taking the Eleven to a mental health facility where he can recover. Except of course something has gone horribly wrong there. The facility is down to just a handful of survivors, being preyed upon by a mysterious force out in the jungle. The creature seems attracted to sound, so there’s probably influence from A Quiet Place on display, although that’s not acknowledged in the extras. Naturally, the crew gets separated, with Liv and the Eleven stuck together, which is probably the worst possible combination. Once the Eleven starts to unravel, and his other personae creep out again, Liv has to ponder whether she’s actually willing to kill him. And of course the Eleven wants to take advantage of her dilemma. So there’s that portion of character development, but the main conflict doesn’t have anything particularly special about it.
