The TARDIS lands in a quaint English seaside village...except there’s no sea. According to the inhabitants, it’s September 1, 1991...every day. And the TARDIS says it’s 2008. This is one of those new-series style stories where the Doctor and companion are trying to figure out what’s going on for more than half of the story. This time, though, the pacing is about right for a 48-minute story, and the reveal is gradual and satisfying, with a classic-series tie-in. Once again, though, the Doctor and Lucie leave after solving most of the problem, but not all of it. Lucie doesn’t seem to like this particular story, and some of the friction from Series 1 is present, but only a little bit. On the whole, the mystery makes this one a pretty good entry.
