The last of these interlude stories is almost all Lucie. The Doctor takes her to a viewing platform above a storm-wracked planet, but of course they’re attacked by raiders, and Lucie ends up stuck down on the planet, without the Doctor, protecting a child. This Lucie is a little more contemplative, as the narration sticks tightly with her, instead of having a ton of secondary characters. Despite her apparent recklessness, she seems to be aware that there’s just as much danger in her life as there is excitement, and sometimes there’s a cost for that. Sheridan Smith’s narration fits the tone perfectly, and the whole thing feels very Lucie. Her impression of the Doctor isn’t all that great, and makes him sound somewhat dismissive and arrogant. The story is relatively brief, but that’s expected. It’s a nice short story, if a bit dark.
