This Subscriber Short Trip from 2015 was re-released in 2017 as a Rarity. It’s set in an English village in 2005, where the local military barracks is about to be decommissioned, to the dismay of both the soldiers and the town, for political reasons this American doesn’t quite follow. The military post has a secret, though, an alien secret that an alien is willing to go to great lengths to protect. Alice Cavender only has a few Big Finish credits, but one of her hallmarks seems to be slightly odd juxtapositions, like the local group of Buddhists who are involved in local activism, and prove very handy in preventing psychic attacks. Lucie doesn’t have as much to do in this story, which is fine, because Stephen Critchlow, while an excellent narrator, doesn’t attempt Lucie’s northern accent. Although the story is long, it doesn’t really feel like all that much happens.
