This is another story with connections in both the past and the future. Auntie Pat from “Horror of Glam Rock” (both by Paul Magrs) appears again, rather later in her life, when she’s taken up running a B&B in the Lake Country, married to a former folk singer. Which is fine until the Zygons turn up. This is the first time that Big Finish used the Zygons, since shapeshifting doesn’t lend itself well to audio, but also the Zygons just aren’t used as often as people think, “Day of the Doctor” notwithstanding. Here, they’re played somewhat for comic relief, as you might expect from Paul Magrs, somewhat like the Sontarans have become on TV. There’s a twist that I never saw coming, and it ends with the Doctor having to lie to Lucie, which will come back to haunt him much later. This is a memorable story, but probably more for what it leads to later.
