Subscriber Short Trips #2018-4
Released: 1 December 2018
Listened: 7/18/21
This is one of the Christmas-themed Subscriber Short Trips, or rather lack-of-Christmas, because the Doctor comes to London to discover that December 25 is just a regular day. Fortunately, he bumps into his old friend Harry Sullivan...who doesn’t remember him. Which is a good start for what could be a longer story, but this is just a short trip, so it resolves fairly quickly, and with very little harm done. We do find out that Harry has some concern about how his medical research is being used, which we’ve seen in other stories, but the Doctor tells him it’ll be OK. Stephen Critchlow reads this one, and as usual doesn’t attempt to mimic any voices, although he does have the Eighth Doctor’s cadence pretty well down. It’s a nice addition to the collection of Christmas stories, although not a standout.
