The Eighth Doctor and Molly (and Liv)

With this phase, the Era of the Boxed Sets began. The Eighth Doctor Adventures had ended in early 2011, followed by the Mary Shelley stories from the beginning of this Doctor’s tenure in late 2011, and then this blockbuster set not until late 2012, making a break in the publishing schedule, and a good jumping on point for new listeners (including myself). The experiment worked so well that Big Finish published all the subsequent Eighth Doctor stories in boxed sets, and then expanded the format to other Doctors and series as well, to the point where the Main Range ended in 2021, replaced by boxed sets. The new companion is Molly O’Sullivan, played by Ruth Bradley, except that Big Finish didn’t really plan Molly’s arc, or Bradley’s involvement, beyond the first box, which...complicates things.
