Dark Eyes #3.3: Masterplan

Dark Eyes #3.3

Released: 17 November 2014

Listened: 11/21/21

Having hit his breaking point in the last story, the Doctor decides he’s OK with breaking the Laws of Time and preventing the Eminence from being created, so he heads back to its origins. However, the Master has done his homework this time, and although his plan is absurdly complicated, he does seem to have thought it all through. If he can influence the creation of the Eminence, he can take control of the Infinite Warriors later on, after they’ve converted most of humanity. Except the Doctor, playing it by ear as usual, has screwed things up enough that he and the Master are forced to work together. And neither of them banked on the scientist who created the Eminence being totally binky-bonkers. This episode is mostly about putting pairs of characters in one room and seeing what happens, both the Doctor and the Master, and Liv and Sally Armstrong, which doesn’t go well at all for Sally. Molly isn’t in this story either, at least, not as a speaking part, but her presence is felt. It’s a good quiet episode before the big explosions.
