This story is a bit tricky to place in the Doctor’s timeline, because it’s not really about the Doctor. But it takes place during the Time War, and the Doctor is most definitely trying to control the damage. It’s about a woman whose planet was destroyed in the Time War, and now she’s out for revenge against the Time Lords. Specifically, she’s got her hands on a gun that uses time as bullets; she has to “feed” it pieces of her own history, which then affects her timeline. However, by ripping out parts of her own timeline, she affects the lives of her loved ones as well. It’s very tragic, and makes for an appropriate Time War story.
