Placed here because the sonic screwdriver features. This is Adric’s story, in which he gets separated from the rest of the crew and ends up in a Don Quixote reference (as you can tell from the title). Unfortunately, Adric isn’t human, and so doesn’t get the reference. Quixote’s role is played by a doppelganger of the Fourth Doctor, conjured from Adric’s subconscious desires. This lets Matthew Waterhouse do a Tom Baker impression, which isn’t half bad, and a Peter Davison impression that’s just OK, and a frankly terrible Janet Fielding impression, but that feels somehow appropriate. There’s not a lot of drama in this story, just some character development for Adric, but it’s mostly about the references.
