This Short Trip focuses almost entirely on Nyssa, and takes place within the TARDIS, but it’s also full of continuity references. Nyssa’s been having bad dreams about her father, and stumbles onto a device of Susan’s that allows communication with a much earlier Gallifrey, specifically with a memory of the First Doctor, who believes Nyssa to be Susan, but also with the original Master, who tries to corrupt her. All the imagery on Gallifrey reflects the depictions in the modern series, and there are also descriptions of the first eight Doctors, many of whom Nyssa doesn’t know. Sarah Sutton does a very credible job of imitating Tegan, Adric, and the Fifth Doctor for their parts. It’s got atmosphere, if not a lot of plot, but the atmosphere it conveys is quite satisfying.
