The Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan

Once Janet Fielding agreed to return for more Big Finish audios, but Matthew Waterhouse hadn’t yet, this section became the obvious choice to insert the stories. Tegan is more relaxed than in her earlier stint, with the pressure to get to Heathrow removed. There is some awkwardness in that they really don’t address the fact that it’s been much longer for the Doctor and Nyssa than it was for Tegan, but there was no evidence of that on TV, so it’s best to keep that pretense up. There’s also a large section of this period where the Doctor is traveling alone. That doesn’t correspond to anything from TV, but the idea that he left them in Amsterdam for a bit, which turned out to be much longer than “a bit,” works reasonably well. So any “Fifth Doctor alone” story tends to get shoved into this part of the timeline.
