Ghost Station

Main Range #266: Time Apart

Main Range #266

Released: 1 July 2020

Listened: 8/1/20

This story, the first part of a collection called “Time Apart,” follows on immediately from “Conversion,” with the Fifth Doctor alone, recovering from the trauma of that story. Although these are unrelated short stories, they have related themes of forgiveness, and the Doctor not needing to be responsible for other people’s actions. It has a small cast, and was released during the COVID-19 lockdown, but it was recorded much earlier, so the events are unrelated. This first story is a two-hander, set in an abandoned train station in East Germany, where a guard has an experience he wasn’t meant to have, and could potentially change his life. This one is very dark and atmospheric, a good ghost story, best listened to at night with the lights down.
