The final of the four stories is even more surreal than what’s come before. The Doctor lands in Renaissance Florence, where he’s roped into performing a play based on Dido and Aeneas for a hostile Duke. But something is wrong, and the world seems to keep getting smaller around him. Dan Starkey wrote this one, and like many things he writes, there’s a lot of fancy language, which can be somewhat distracting. Unfortunately, none of it reveals any more about what the Daleks are doing. I understand this was written and recorded under very trying conditions, and the lockdown messed up the Monthly Range schedule just as the line was coming to an end, but this whole release really feels like filler.
