This is a John Dorney story with an artificial structure, and the timey-wimey turned up to the point where even River gets confused, and I love every second of it. This is the sort of time-hopping that’s only really been common in Moffatt-written stories, but that’s fine because River is a Moffatt creation, and Dorney handles it expertly. The Fifth Doctor is basically just a prop in this one, but Davison gets to put on a fake accent and ham it up a bit, which I’m sure he enjoyed.
