This story is a crossover, oddly enough, with Big Finish’s Cicero stories. Obviously, Cicero wasn’t an action hero, and isn’t here, but the Fifth Doctor turns fanboy over him to a level that he rarely does, even for his favorite historical figures. As odd as the crossover is, it mostly works, provided Cicero manages to forget most of it. Fortunately, you don’t need to know the Cicero series to follow this story; a basic historical knowledge will do fine. This is also the first appearance of Marc, a new short-term companion, played by George Watkins, Peter Davison’s nephew.
