I’m placing this here to give Tegan and Nyssa a little break after “Peterloo,” in the absence of other clues. It’s an Agatha Christie style drawing-room mystery, or at least the end of one. The twists are that the Doctor isn’t around for most of it, and the villagers are anthropomorphic animals created by a children’s book author. Simon Forward does a great job of capturing Nyssa’s and Tegan’s personalities, and Sarah Sutton does an amazing job playing Tegan, narrating a chunk of the story and interrupting Nyssa at times. The Doctor shows up at the end, rather ex machina, but the bulk of the story lets the two women take the spotlight, to good effect. This story is my Exhibit A in why the next spin-off (TV or Big Finish) should be "The Tegan and Nyssa Mysteries."
