A later story, in Main Range numbering, but an early one chronologically. I think that’s a good thing, as it allowed Janet Fielding to get comfortable playing Tegan again before recording her “rejoining” story. As far as the plot goes, it’s more about Tegan and her personal life than the villains as such. Tegan’s ex Kyle makes for an interesting character with a slow unwinding of his backstory. Rembrandt features, with the Big Finish trick of “famous historical figure is actually cranky, put-upon, and rather egotistical.” At the end of the story, the Doctor leaves Nyssa and Tegan in Amsterdam for a bit, which allows him to have a handful of solo adventures...a period which seems to keep growing.
