With Janet Fielding back, and the opportunity to tell stories post-”Snakedance,” a Mara story seemed inevitable. This time, the setting is less mystical and more technological, which reduces the dream-like quality that previous Mara stories had, but since there’s no visual imagery to work with, that’s all right. Madeleine Potter manages the Big Finish trick of being an American who sounds like she’s putting on an American accent. It’s a fun time for the main cast, though, as Peter Davison gets to play a Mara-possessed evil Doctor, and Sarah Sutton and Mark Strickson get to play sheep (it makes sense in context).
