Probably the weak link in this trilogy, mostly because it doesn’t really stick in the mind. There’s the usual mysterious aliens who turn out to be misunderstood, but they don’t turn up until halfway through the story. The rest is the usual future-space politics, which can be hard to care about. It’s mostly reasonable this time, but one the whole, not terribly memorable.
