Another of the very early Big Finish stories, and the first with the Ice Warriors. They have a rather distinctive voice because Nick Briggs isn’t involved. Peri seems comfortable with the Doctor, and also seems to be a more seasoned adventurer. She has definite opinions about where she wants to go, and wants to use her botany skills (which she can’t, unfortunately, because they’re on Mars). Although this story plays right into the trope of the noble aliens and the warmongering human, it does lay the groundwork for future Big Finish Ice Warrior stories. This one, like many early Big Finishes, doesn’t have a lot of plot. Characters are always going here and there in spaceships and tanks that are about to crash or get blown up.
