While Erimem and Peri are in Monte Carlo, the Doctor goes off on his own, providing another spot where Big Finish can wedge in solo stories, eventually adding up to a long solo period. This special from 2008 doesn’t necessarily take place here, but it’s where the timeline has put it. Like many of the specials, it’s on the short side, so the Doctor turns up, immediately spots trouble, acquires a companion-substitute, and takes care of business. In this case, the villain is pink vampire hamster toys that were a fad in the 80s; looks like there’s some influence from the modern series here.
