Things continue to be pretty dark for Erimem, with mind-control this time. There are a lot of character references in this story, to the Doctor’s love of cricket, Peri’s involuntary archaeology training, and filling out parts of Erimem’s past. Which is good, because there’s not a whole ton of plot. It’s another “old gods from before time” monster, but they’re not even particularly good old gods; the Seventh Doctor would laugh at them. The structure is somewhat unusual, with most of episode 2 being an extended vision Erimem is having on the point of death. On the whole, it’s serviceable, but not really a stand-out.
