There’s continuity here, in that Peri and the Doctor are worried about Erimem after the mind-control in the last story. Unfortunately, they seem to think that maybe Erimem wants to get off the ride (hence the title), when she doesn’t really say that. The story itself has a fairly small cast, consisting of agoraphobic colonists who can’t handle a hallway, much less going outside. That could be clever, but Peri is kind of at a loss of how to interact with them, so the story consists mostly of dragging unwilling people around corridors. When faced with a “kill all the bad guys to save the colonists,” the Doctor only objects weakly, then goes along with it, which is odd. And worse, I’m pretty sure the plan killed a number of colonists too, but they don’t have speaking parts, so nobody mentions them. The Doctor is never much for sticking around after the story ends, but in this case, it really seems doubtful that the colonists will make it on their own, and he just leaves. Wendy Padbury (Victoria) plays the morally corrupt head of the colony, but as noted elsewhere, she really doesn’t sound much like Victoria anymore, so you wouldn’t know if you didn’t recognize her name.
