In this Chronicle, Anneke Wills gets to show her range, playing Polly, the Doctor inhabiting Polly’s body, and a homicidal medical AI. And if that weren’t enough, David Warner plays an eight-year-old boy. There’s lots of Acting to go around in this story, plus Guy Adams layers lots of time-shifting on top of it, so you have to pay attention to what’s going on. There’s more references to the Doctor nearing the end of his life, and perhaps being tempted by the idea of a younger body. There’s not a lot of direct conflict, and the Doctor’s talked down evil computers before, but the main plot isn’t really the point for this one.
