Like the last story in this project, this one sees a companion being interrogated by a government agent as its frame story. Unlike the last story, though, Vicki doesn’t relate previous events; she just has flashbacks to an earlier point in the story. The unique element of this story is that it’s set at a point that’s history to Vicki, but the future to Ian and Barbara, so Vicki is the only one who knows what historically happened, except she finds out that history doesn’t always get it right. It’s a darker story than we’ve seen so far with Vicki, and Maureen O’Brien does a good job of showing how Vicki is affected by it.
