When this was released, it was a very rare story, with just the Doctor and Dodo. As a result, it’s the first Big Finish story that deals with Dodo’s internal thoughts. That’s an interesting perspective, because we don’t really have enough Dodo around to get a sense of what she’s like. This story also features some introspection on the Doctor’s part, as he seems to realize that he’s reaching the end of his life and reflects on how he’s changed since he started hanging out with humans. The story itself is a bit spooky, but mostly standard, with a Time Lord twist at the end that doesn’t really change much, but lets you feel a bit clever for understanding the reference.
