These next two stories come from the “Lost Stories” First Doctor box set. There’s no telling whether these two were originally intended to appear at this spot in the chronology, but this is where the timeline cues place them, and oddly, the second story in the boxed set happens first. This is a one-part story, written as a “proof of concept” by Moris Farhi, never really intended for production. And you can see why, because it’s a very high concept, too far out there for the classic series, and maybe even the modern one, but it’s good as a short audio story. The early placement means that Ian and Barbara are just friends at this point, and the Doctor is still making arbitrary decisions for the whole group, which is required for the plot to work.
