We don’t get Zygon stories very often, and it’s nice to see one with the Fourth Doctor. Even more unusually, these Zygons aren’t on Earth, although they’d still like to invade it. A jungle planet gives Leela a good opportunity to practice her skills, and the Zygons are also doing a better job of infiltration than they normally do. There’s a bit of moral dilemma, as the defenders of Earth are shown to be thoroughly reprehensible people, but that doesn’t mean the Doctor can just abandon them. Although it has some good flashes, the story just isn’t all that memorable in the end. That seems to be true of most of the stories from this season; they simply don’t have as much time to develop as I’d hoped. I don’t know if that’s because of the shorter format, or some other reason.
