It’s Doctor Who meets The Abyss. The Doctor parks the TARDIS at the bottom of the Mariana Trench so they’ll be undisturbed while he repairs K-9. So of course a handful of explorers happen upon them almost immediately, and there’s something alien going on nearby. Something alien that uses a force field so that the local pressure is just 3 atmospheres instead of over 1,000, because otherwise the story wouldn’t work. Because there’s swimming, an awful lot of swimming. K-9 sat out the last story, and in this one, he ends up getting mind-controlled on multiple occasions. He’s just not having a good series. There’s nothing particularly special about this one, although Alice Krige is in it, best known as Star Trek’s Borg Queen.
