This particular Short Trip is more of a vignette than anything. A wildlife photographer spends months alone on a barren planet waiting for a rare bird, a “gadot,” to come along. Instead, he finds the Doctor, who decides to help him out. The moral is that even when the Doctor helps you, it can lead to unexpected consequences. Hugh Ross is the narrator, and his Fourth Doctor isn’t what you’d call an impersonation, but it more or less captures the tone.
