Another light-hearted story, if not quite as silly. The TARDIS crew ends up on Earth, shortly after World War II, while rationing was still enforced. The Doctor stumbles upon a sentient can of baked beans, which leads them to a department store in London (Henrik’s, which will employ Rose Tyler in 55ish years). Polly remembers being there as a child, and losing her stuffed bear, so she and Ben go looking for it, while the Doctor tries to deal with the beans’ problem. The solution has a threat of paradox to it, but ultimately that’s put aside because the emotional content of the story is more important. Anneke Wills does the narration, and does quite a credible job of imitating both Ben and the Doctor, which is impressive.
