This is a kind of story we haven’t really had in this era: a slightly silly one. The Doctor and friends are in a bank (trying to get some small bills to pay a parking fine for the TARDIS) when it’s robbed by the Selachians, shark-like aliens in mech suits. Created by Steve Lyons, they mostly appear in print, but they have a couple of audio appearances. Frazer Hines and Anneke Wills split the narration, with Frazer playing the Doctor as he does so nicely. There’s a bit more emphasis on Jamie, so Polly doesn’t get to play action girl as she’s done in the last few stories, but she does get a plotline of her own. This one is short, so there’s not a ton of time for plot, but there are a bunch of switches and betrayals -- it’s not quite a heist story, but it has some elements of one. I like a good heist story, which Doctor Who doesn’t do very often, so I’m fond of this one.
