This extra 2018 Short Trip is the Paul Spragg Memorial award winner, by Harry Draper. On its face, it involves the policeman seen at the beginning of “An Unearthly Child” (and “Day of the Doctor”), but of course it’s rather more than that. In fact, it’s a bit surreal, and somewhat hard to credit, so it may be better viewed as one of those fairy-tale sorts of stories. Nick Briggs is the narrator, and unfortunately doesn’t do the best Second Doctor or Jamie, but it’s unfair to compare to Frazer Hines. It’s an interesting story, well-suited for a Christmas treat, if you don’t think too much about it.
