The Light at the End

Destiny of the Doctor #2
Released: 1 February 2013
Listened: 10/14/20
This is one of the “Destiny of the Doctor” stories created for the 50th Anniversary in 2013. Which means the Doctor and companions act just a bit more stereotypically. It’s very much a base under siege story, with a side of invisible monster thrown in, which is a little gratuitous on audio, but it’s doing its best to be of the period. There’s also a bit of timey-wimey involved, but not a whole lot. The plot actually isn’t very much; it’s fairly basic, but in fairness, there’s only an hour of time to work with. As with the other stories in this series, there’s an insert from the Eleventh Doctor, but it’s relatively restrained. (I would have expected some gushing over bow ties, but no.) It’s read by Frazer Hines, which means you get the Doctor for free.
