We’re back to another Jamie-focused story. In this case, there’s no narration at all, and no flashbacks, except in the vaguest sense. It’s a two-hander between Jamie and his interrogator Moran, except that sometimes Moran is taken over by a different entity, and the Doctor speaks through Jamie. It’s all timey-wimey, with scenes taken out of order, with Jamie trying to figure out the sequence. It’s set against a backdrop of the Doctor helping oppressed aliens, but the story leads Jamie to wonder if maybe the Doctor’s gotten it wrong for once. According to the extras, it’s possible to play the parts of the story in the correct order, but the download I have doesn’t allow that. Ultimately, the success or failure of the story depends entirely on how interesting you find the puzzle, and whether you’re willing to listen to it again to put it all together. Although I normally like timey-wimey stories, I didn’t find this one terribly compelling.
