The Pyramid of Sutekh

The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield #2.1
Released: 12 June 2015
Listened: 3/5/21
Some time seems to have passed between the last boxed set and this one, as Benny is on her own again, doing archaeology on Mars, which is one of her speciality areas. Unfortunately, in this case that means running afoul of Sutekh, who’s made the Doctor into his personal mental slave, which is unfortunate. Benny is placed in the rather unfortunate position of having to fight against the Doctor, with the help of a robot who sounds like her dead husband Jason. Once again, Benny’s in rather over her head, and ends up doing some rather foolish things as a result. Gabriel Woolf plays Sutekh, sounded exactly like he did 40+ years ago, which is amazing, but he does have a lot of exposition to cover, some of which could be a bit zippier. As a setup, it’s not bad, but it doesn’t do much on its own.
