Somewhat incongruously, the Doctor is alone in this story; maybe he dropped off Ace and Hex for the events of “The Veiled Leopard”? He seems to be looking for a vacation, which is odd, but maybe it’s best not to wonder about the continuity in specials. The Doctor lands on a large spaceship, crewed only by Vilgreth, the Titan of the title, but he’s oddly from Earth. Although Vilgreth isn’t immediately friendly, the Doctor warms to him when they have tea. But the situation is more complicated than the Doctor knows, and strangely for the Seventh Doctor, he’s not automatically suspicious. In fact, by his own high standards, the Doctor fails in this story. However, it’s apparently a remake of one of the “Audio Visuals” stories, which may explain that. It’s a bit darker than specials normally are.
