This entry isn’t quite as clever as the previous one. The Doctor and Ace end up in a creepy manor house (and we know Ace hates those), where the owner is playing a deadly game with anyone who visits. Guests have to solve a murder mystery, or forfeit their lives. If you’re going to posit a locked-room murder mystery that no one can solve as a premise for a story, it needs to be an awfully clever solution, and this one just isn’t. (It also doesn’t hold up to logic; who killed the first victim?) This one is less than the sum of its parts.
