This one-parter is intended to be a coda for the previous story, in which two of the android characters face consequences for their actions in “Kingdom of Silver” and also in a later incident. It seems like this was meant to lead to more, as an antagonist is introduced, with only one line, who escapes and is deemed a threat, yet never appears again in any other story. It was also intended to tie to the Cyberman 2 series, but only thematically, as the characters from here do not appear elsewhere. The Doctor only finds out about all this many years later, and that gives the whole thing a melancholy edge. Like the first part, the characters are well defined, and gives me an impulse to listen to Cyberman.
