In 2015, Big Finish released a boxed set called The Last Adventure, intended to give the Sixth Doctor a proper regeneration story. It consisted of four parts, each with a different companion, and this is the first to show up in this project. This particular piece is a slightly odd one-hour story, in which the Doctor and Charley encounter a planet of werewolves...kind of. Their story actually isn’t terribly important, as Charley and the Doctor get separated. Charley is rescued by someone calling himself a Time Lord, who wants to stealthily intervene and steal a psychic probe while he’s at it. A Time Lord who knows all about who Charley is, and who sounds exactly like Michael Jayston, meaning it’s the Valeyard. On the whole, it seems like an inconsequential, slightly silly adventure, but the Valeyard’s plan won’t become clear until much later in the boxed set.
