This story is also by a classic-series writer, this time Andrew Smith. And again, the pacing is slower than previous stories with Flip. The Doctor and Flip end up near the living moon Erys, which is inhabited by a bunch of imp-like beings from the title. However, it’s a dangerous place, best avoided, and there’s a woman with no memory, Sarah, who has a mission to Erys, but she doesn’t quite know what it is. Of course, the Doctor can’t help but solve the mystery. Flip gets a good chunk of time apart from the Doctor, in which she continues to act rather recklessly. As with most Andrew Smith stories, the monsters have a reason for their behavior that’s the other characters don’t quite understand, although it’s not quite as big of a twist as his more famous stories, like “Full Circle.” And there’s another reference to Peri at the end that reinforces the Doctor’s desire to find her. It’s a reasonable mystery, but it’s just not all that memorable.
