Water Worlds #3

The third story in this set takes the focus off of Hebe a bit, although her marine biologist background is still useful, because this is another water world. The high concept here, from Jonathan Morris, is that the colonists on this planet are body-swappers, with a number of stored minds in a computer who take turns in a very limited (and shrinking) number of bodies. This lets Bonnie Langford have some spotlight, as she spends a good chunk of the story playing somebody else. For the third time in this boxed set, what appears to be a monster actually isn’t, as such. That’s a fine Doctor Who trope, usually very effective, but I’m not sure we needed to use it in every story of this set. Hebe is an interesting character, a good addition to the series.
