The final story is a reference to the novel/play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, in that it involves an autistic teenager trying to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance and running into the Doctor. The Doctor identifies with the boy because they are both puzzled by human emotional behavior from time to time. I think it perhaps pushes that part of the story a bit too hard, but it’s a reasonable story at this short length.
