This is a Companion Chronicle, but not one released in the normal course of that series. Instead, it was a special with Doctor Who Magazine, but it’s not clear why this story in particular. It’s a little odd in that the Doctor can get to another planet in the TARDIS before “The Three Doctors,” but there’s a Time Lord connection to their trip, so maybe that’s it. It’s a bit lengthy for a Companion Chronicle, and Katy Manning does the lion’s share of the work. It’s one of those deals where there’s an alien planet where there’s nothing but ruins, but it’s apparently inhabited by ghosts, as well as a handful of archaeologists (not Benny or River). And of course the ghosts aren’t exactly what they seem. But it feels like there’s really not enough plot for the length of the story, so it’s not particularly memorable.
