I’m setting this story at the end of Season 8, in defiance of Craig Brawley, because: a) UNIT HQ is still in London, b) Jo has only been in the TARDIS a few times, and c) Jo dates a UNIT soldier who isn’t Mike. As for the story itself, an alien shows up in England who needs the Doctor’s help. She appears to be an attractive woman, which has the Doctor and all the UNIT staff falling all over her, although it doesn’t appear to be a psychic power; she’s just really charming. Jo doesn’t buy it, and immediately starts looking for a catch. Of course, because this is a short story, she’s right, and not just jealous. It’s pretty straightforward, but the Third Doctor’s mannerisms are captured well, as is his obvious longing to escape the Earth. This story probably wouldn’t have worked so well with a less charming version of the Doctor.
